JANUARY 25,   the President of Ukraine signed the Decree “On Performing a Special Examination and Checks of Data about the Persons Who Apply for the Positions in the State Executive Agencies and Local Governments” (#33/2012).

In accordance with Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Framework for Preventing and Fighting Corruption” (#3206) public servants will have to go through a special examination starting from January 1, 2012.

The Decree envisions the examination of the following data:

-  previous criminal records and convictions (if any), its clearance or removal;

-  previous administrative penalties for corruption activities;

-  reliable data declare in the declaration on property, income, expenditures and financial liabilities over the previous year;

-  availability of corporate rights;

-  health condition, education level, scientific degree, academic status, advanced training certificates;

-  citizenship; and,

-  other data as required by the legislation.
