1. Preservation of the architectural monument of national importance "Fortress Barracks" with the aim of creating a new tourist location

3. Major renovation of a separate building of the Kamianets-Podilskyi territorial center for social services (provision of social services) "Turbota" to accommodate a department of social work with veterans
Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
Kamianets-Podilskyi is a municipality of innovation, international partnership, and sustainable development.
1. Sustainable Development and Energy Independence
In 2024, the municipality launched the first phase of a large-scale cogeneration project.
Its goal is to provide year-round direct hot water supply to every household in the community that is affordable, reliable, and environmentally friendly.
The city has already received four cogeneration units worth more than €4 million as part of USAID support, at no cost to the local budget.
2. Leadership in Digital Transformation
Kamianets-Podilskyi was named one of the six winners of the national SMART CITY 2024 competition!
The city has been recognized as one of the top-performing municipalities in digital transformation in Ukraine under the EGAP program.
This achievement opens new opportunities for the further development of digital services, e-democracy, and greater transparency in governance.
3. International Cooperation
The municipality has 38 partner cities across Europe and beyond
Over EUR 5 million has been invested in implementing and supporting international municipality projects.
In 2024, Kamianets-Podilskyi joined the Union of the Baltic Cities (UBC)
The city is currently submitting an application to join the UNESCO network as a historic city with rich architectural heritage.
4. Resilience and Support for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)
As of 2025, the municipality is home to more than 17,000 internally displaced people (IDPs).
There are inclusive programmes in place to support, integrate and engage displaced people in community life.
5. Historical and Cultural Significance
Kamianets-Podilskyi is one of the oldest cities in Europe, with a history spanning over a millennium.
It is known for its unique architectural monuments, including the Kamianets Fortress, the Old Town, as well as numerous religious and civil buildings of different eras and cultures.
