Kholmy municipality, located in the northern part of Chernihiv region 40 kilometres from the border, is a forestry and agrarian territory adapting its development to wartime realities. The municipality’s economic foundation is built upon its extensive forest resources and fertile agricultural land, supported by key budget-forming entities including the Koriukivske Forestry Branch of "Forests of Ukraine", the Svitanok woodworking enterprise, and major agricultural land cultivation companies like Chervonyi Maiak and Druzhba.
The local administration is currently updating its 2020–2027 Development Strategy to address urgent security, recovery, and humanitarian requirements. The municipality’s refined strategic goals focus on fostering sustainable local economic growth, modernizing the governance system, and building a safe, environmentally friendly, and barrier-free infrastructure accessible to all residents. The municipal team demonstrates high administrative readiness and is actively seeking international partnerships, donor organizations, and grant funding to implement these recovery priorities and enhance the resilience of the municipality.
