The Krasnokutsk municipality is equidistant from the three regional centres of Ukraine - Sumy, Kharkiv and Poltava - by 100 km. The key sector of the municipality's economy is agriculture. 

The municipality has significant historical and tourist potential, water resources, craft production, and minerals.
