Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
One of the largest municipalities in the Rivne region, bringing together 55 villages and one town. The town is small and resembles a classic university city, as it is home to the first Slavic Academy in Eastern Europe — the Ostroh Academy, founded in 1576. The Academy still admits students, and out of the town’s 15,000 residents, about 3,000 are students.
Ostroh is also a tourist destination, with many preserved landmarks of local and national significance, such as the Ostroh Castle of the princes, the Lutsk Tower, the Brick Tower, and more.
At the same time, the agricultural sector is the most developed in the municipality. The local government is actively fostering development through public-private partnerships, working on projects related to ecological energy, and addressing the needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and youth.
