Additional peculiarities of the municipality:

The Popasna municipality is one of the most affected by the hostilities in the Luhansk region. Since May 2022, the community has been under temporary occupation. Before the full-scale invasion, the community had a developed railway, industrial and social infrastructure, a wide network of educational, cultural and healthcare institutions. Popasna served as an important transportation hub of regional importance. The community was characterized by active project activities, close cooperation with international partners, and significant natural, agricultural, and water potential. Before the war, the community dynamically developed education, healthcare, culture, and sports.
