Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
The city of Smila is located right in the heart of Ukraine and due to that has unique opportunities to cooperate. The municipality is actively working to create a favourable business climate in the community, so that entrepreneurs can start and develop their own businesses with as few obstacles as possible. Launched in 2025, the Small and Medium-Sized Business Support Programme aims to help businesses promote their products, create new jobs and replenish the community budget. In the city there are more than 20 large enterprises of different fields of industry – electromechanics, metallurgy, light industry, food industry, furniture manufacturing etc. In 2023 the ‘Smila’ Industrial Park was launched
The main goal of that project is to create opportunity for large investors of developing a fulfilled ecosystem of their production facilities on one territory with the area of more then 60 hectares with all necessary conditions. In cooperation with all of the state authority bodies the Administrative Services Center of Smila was established in 2013 with the aim to simplify the way of receiving public services for city inhabitants. Nowadays the ASC provides more than 400 services for people, including issuing of passport, driving license and vehicle passport, real estate property rights registration, social services and veteran support sphere, construction and land works licensing and many other kinds of public services. The premises are accessible to persons with disabilities and other people with limited mobility, so that almost all groups of inhabitants could receive qualified service. Smila is confidently moving along the path of digital transformation. The city has implemented electronic services, an e-document management system, online diaries in schools, and registers in medical institutions. Schools and shelters are provided with high-speed Internet access and equipped with modern technologies. That’s why in 2024 Smila got to the TOP-100 of digital transformation leaders among of more than 1.400 cities and villages all over Ukraine, occupying one of the leading positions in the region.
