Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
Bakhmut is one of the oldest cities in eastern Ukraine, the first administrative centre of Donetsk region, and the cradle of centuries-old history, traditions, and hard work. Once known as a city of champagne, salt mines, and family traditions, today it has become a symbol of heroism and resilience.
Since December 2023, Bakhmut has been under temporary occupation. At the same time, local authorities are actively caring for their residents and seeking various solutions to the main problem facing Bakhmut residents - the lack of housing. One solution has been to search for land plots to build such housing for Bakhmut residents who have the status of internally displaced persons. To date, a reliable partner - Hoshcha settlement municipality - has been found. A project to build social housing for IDPs on its territory is planned.
