Additional peculiarities of the municipality:
The Borodyanka municipality is a growing and strategically important part of the Kyiv region. It consists of 32 settlements and is located 50 km from Kyiv. The municipality serves as a vital logistical hub.
In 2022, the community suffered massive destruction and became a symbol of the Ukrainian spirit. Images of ruined buildings, the bullet-riddled monument to Taras Shevchenko, a kitchen cabinet and a ceramic rooster that survived on the facade of a high-rise moved the world. A total of 2,234 facilities were damaged or destroyed.
Despite the losses, the community demonstrates unity and resilience. It is actively rebuilding its infrastructure, education, healthcare, and social services. Special attention is given to youth, veterans, and internally displaced persons.
The local economy relies on small and medium-sized businesses in agriculture, logistics, construction, and services.
The local government promotes investment, partnerships, and green development, aiming to transform Borodyanka into a safe, livable, and attractive town — a symbol of national recovery.
